Born in Iwaki, Fukushima, I hitchhiked across the U.S. and Canada in 2015–2016 and learned English on the road. I moved to Kyoto in 2016, founded Ken’s Tours Kyoto, and incorporated as KENSTOURS LLC in February 2025.

I’m originally from Kumano City in Mie Prefecture. Captivated by the depth of Kyoto’s history and culture, I explore and learn something new every day. Recently, I’ve been especially into indigo dyeing.
Akari OmiyaGuide
Born and raised in Kyoto, I studied abroad in Canada and the United States. I aim to provide cheerful, energetic guidance, and I’m naturally friendly—I often end up making new friends wherever I travel. With that bright spirit, I’ll share the fascinating world of maiko and the many charms of Kyoto in a fun and engaging way.
Saya RuzickaGuide
Born and raised in Kyoto, I graduated from Doshisha University and later immigrated to Canada. After returning to Japan from Europe five years ago, I joined Ken’s Tours with a strong passion for sharing the beauty and allure of Kyoto’s geiko and maiko culture with people around the world.
